I heard the same 600.00 BB gun comment from a very affluent gun collector-enthusiast. The collection he has is insured for more than the cost of many peoples homes. He shot that Marauder, and bought it. The use factor, teamed with the accuracy beats looking at a collection in the safes.

In my personal perspective air guns require much more skill and knowledge for a clean kill, I can go out with my shotgun and hip shot at the squirrels, rabbits, and doves but by doing that it takes the fun and thrill of the hunt away. There is a reason I don't use actual guns for hunting small game and it's the intense challenge and adrenaline rush I get from watching my pellet float the wind and nail its target and miss too (can't say I can do that with my 270 Rem I've tried with multiple cameras but I only shoot ballistics from that gun). It's the same as bow hunters why shoot a stick when you can shoot some lead? Lol I hunt in every variety so don't get me wrong archers I love to whistle one down a field into a deer too.

I hope my two sense helped convince you that your no idiot just a person who loves the thrill of a REAL challenge
