Ok, Ok, I'll try them - CPHP

I envy you all who have guns that shoot any Crosman pellet with consistency. I personally have not had any gun that shoots them accurately.
And I have no desire to sort by weight or head diameter or wash and lube.
I’ve always been able to find other brands of pellets for each specific gun. That will out shoot Crosmans. And they work just fine right out of the tin.

I dont i cull on the fly out of the tin .. then thats the smalls that dont fit the leade by experience or just fall in.

Heres my cull tin

Funny i just posted that answer in another thread a moment ago..

Are you hand feeding each pellet and that is how you get a feel for the tightness? If that is the case I will give that a try. Up to this point the only airgun I have that I feed each pellet individually is a Pro Sport and I can get a sense of the fitment while loading.

Cheers,

Ya, i dont have mag feed guns . Now if i did somthing like a pellet Guage may be a + for doing that. . I did calipers once and it was too time consuming and .177's a pain fumbling with them .

Yup; break barrel by hand.
*edit
Anyone using pellet pens? I've got some but I "feel" the pellet loading better by hand🤷‍♂️maybe I've just not gotten completely used to using them?🥴

Thanks, that makes sense and now I am tracking with you. At first I thought you were like the pellet whisperer and/or reading the auras or chakras of the pellets.

What's not to love? I was trying out some new slugs this morning, then just wanted to plink around and have fun. Straight out of the tin, just over an inch ar 50 yards.

My FX MAVERICK will shoot CPHP's as well as JSB's at 50y and I can get the to 100y in calm air.

H&N of any size or make are horrible in all my guns.

Strange how some like one pellet but not another?

I have a Weihrauch HW110 that shoots CPHP and CPUD 14.3s reasonably well, but I was only able to shoot over 190 once in the 30 Yard Challenge with it. I had a bunch of 189s. The Crosmans always seemed to throw a few “flyers” to ruin the score…

… Then the other day I put a Sightron 36X target scope on a .177 Umarex Gauntlet. Using 10.5g CPUDs I shot 191 9X and 192 9x. I was a bit stunned. My Gauntlet always shot the Crosman 10.5s well, but I had never shot the 30 Yard Challenge with it. 190+ is darn good in my opinion.

The next day I shot 198, 196 and 197 on three consecutive cards using the Crosman 10.5g in the Gauntlet.

I’ve got $2,000 rifles and that’s the best 3 consecutive cards that I’ve ever shot!

So, I learned that there are barrels out there that can shoot Crosman pellets extremely well. My experience is that the .177 10.5g pellets are more “consistent” than either of the .22 14.3g (HP or Domes) Crosmans.

I got a little poke about CPHP's at 100 yards so I thought I'd put up a new steel target, grab the Maverick and see what I get in cross winds, 10-15mph.

5 mills up and 1 left was my dope. 34 shots, 900fps. 20" plate with a 1" dot. Not too shabby.

The low and to the right was my sighter and adjusted from there.
