Oil water separator for Hong Heng

This is a decent filter. I got the three media filter unit.

You may want a good electrical outlet box or strip so when you turn it on it operates the pump before you turn on the compressor. I overheated mine three times before I remembered to do this. I also picked up a computer water flow indicator so I could see the pump is actually werqing. I purge the compressor every five minutes and change out the small Yong Heng filter every twenty minutes of run time. Set the Yong Heng filter out to dry and use it over next time. I have not had to change the gold filter in the year I have had it. I run the compressor a little over half an hour per week.

Thank You!!

So for the setup you run one of the fill whips to the filter then connect another fill whip to the bottom of the filter and that connects to the gun?

Fill whip #1 from compressor to small Yong Heng filter was supplied with the compressor. Yong Heng to large gold filter are Foster qr connectors supplied with compressor and filter. Fill whip #2 from top of Gold filter to gun was supplied with the Gold filter.

Just making sure I have it right so should order the filter set and another fill whip along with the flow indicator….Correct?

You should not need the extra fill whip as one is supplied with the compressor and another with the gold filter.

Appreciate the advise!!

I had to make an adapter because the supplied Foster fitting on Fill whip #2 would no fit all of my guns. Just found another Foster that fit the fill whip and one that fit on the guns and put them together. Brass and black in the pic. You may not have this problem but many of the Chinese fittings do not fit each other or other fosters. Another thank you China thing. ;^(

I will just add a few titbits to bio's reply. The flow indicator that he suggests, is just a gadget, and is not really required, in fact just watching the end of the return hose is more reliable. If you want to fill a large cylinder, you will need a way of connecting to your particular valve. If you already have an adaptor for your tank, you can use that. If you are only going to fill your gun directly, I recommend getting a smaller filter. You will need to fill that filter from empty every time you top off your gun. Depending on the gun, you could be wasting more air than you use for shooting, halving the life of your pump. I use something like this for topping of an SCBA tank and find it is more than adequate.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000183421294.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000014.23.31547e8eQX5AYL&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.14976.158757.0&scm_id=1007.14976.158757.0&scm-url=1007.14976.158757.0&pvid=612541e0-70ec-4c15-af16-fab2768bbe84&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.14976.158757.0,pvid:612541e0-70ec-4c15-af16-fab2768bbe84,tpp_buckets:668%230%23131923%2319_668%23808%235965%23492_668%23888%233325%2313_4976%230%23158757%230_4976%232711%237538%23679_668%232846%238113%23645_668%232717%237560%23266 For just filling guns, I recommend something even smaller. The one that comes with the compressor is probably good enough if you don't fill in high humidity environments.
