Ohio Airgunners (Dayton Area)

Forgot the second question-

Raccoon Rabbit and Possum season is closed now, and you can only shoot them for depredations.

Be very careful depending on your surroundings and neighbors if claiming depredations, and be prepared to provide evidence of it to the ODNR Officer if you get called on for nuisance abatement.

Ohio non resident Hunting License would probably still be advisable to demonstrate intent to be lawfully compliant.

I am positive that you must posess a License even if on private land, but if you limit your pesting to nuisance birds and Groundhogs, no one is likely to say anything to you. Use good common sense and make your own call.

Crow season does not open until June in Ohio, April and May are closed season for crows.

European Starlings, House Sparrows, and Feral Pidgeons are fair game at any time, along with nuisance blackbirds. Groundhogs are fair game except during deer gun season, same with coyote. You can blast chucks and yotes with impunity.

Squirrel season is closed, along with coons, rabbits and possums.

IF you have a coon that is causing damage, blast it and you are covered by the depredation clause. You are permitted to humanely euthanize them, as in a pill to the brain box.

Forgot to add-

The Preble county Game Warden is a no nonsense dude. He is fair, and even handed, but DO NOT under any circumstances lie to him if approached. He is known for dealing fairly right up to the point he finds out that you were less than honest, and then he goes full tilt Robo Ranger.

His reputation precedes him in West Central Ohio.
