Oh my god. Glad that's finished.

Several years back I bought a used AT44-10PA. I had some brilliant Idea about reworking the ports and making it a hog gun. So I broke it down and that is far as it went and it has been occupying space in a tool box for years. So today being iced in I decide today's the day I put it back together and get her prepped to do a little tree rat management. My god, don't ever break one of these down! This thing is so complicated I almost gave up several times and had to catch myself before I chucked it in the garbage. Who in the hell came up with this Rube Goldberg of the airgun world? After about 4 hours of hit and miss, assembly, dis-assembly, re-assembly, I got it put back together. First off I couldn't believe I still had all the bit's and pieces, secondly only having the parts a diagram to go by I couldn't believe I didn't have any parts left over and had accounted for every piece! Anyway, if you see one of these sitting in a box in 500 pieces, just walk on by and be thankful you did.

First time I tore down my BT65 it took me 4 reassemble/disassembles til it was right! Took me about 4 hours too. HOWEVER, the knowledge I gained on how airguns in general work was worth the time (& frustration). Not likely I'll ever own a Hatsan again but it helped in general. "Good on ya" for sticking with it. You never said what it shoots like now. Just curious.

The BT65 barrels have the o-ring inside the breech end of the barrel. I also had an AT44, .22 cal. but never had to tear it down. Check that ring & chrony it too. It MIGHT be an easy fix. Once I got my FX guns (Royale 500 & Boss) I sold my 3 Hatsans & 2 Benjamins. The Hatsans were great to learn on & try to get the most out of them that I could but they just didn't compare to real quality guns. Never regretted getting rid of 'em. Oh, also check the transfer port o-rings. Had to replace them a couple times on the BT65.

That's good advise. It's not up and down off. It's left/right/up/down off. lol Could be the barrel is fouled, but these guns are erratic due to the design. I was hoping for 1 minute of squirrel accuracy. I sent the original barrel back to Hatsan because it was milled off center and canted. The barrel they set back was a larger diameter and is 15mm. The threads on the crown end look like a plumbers work. The other barrel while milled wonky would at least group well. I'll reach out to Hatsan Monday and get a o-ring set and a couple replacement barrel bands.
