AIRGUN FELD TARGET MATCH REPORT

We had beautiful cool weather and a moderate turnout of 14 shooters with several visitors for our third airgun field target match of the year. The course was set up differently than any before with targets placed on the 3D course on both sides of the archery house. Larry followed our normal format designing a course that was considered only moderately difficult with an average target distance of 33.4 yards. Target sizes or “kill zones” were anywhere from one half inch to one inch and three quarters in diameter depending on the target distance which is anywhere from 10 yards to 55 yards. Some targets are fairly easy and others not with an overall course difficulty rating of 28.2 “Troyer” which is system commonly used to determine the relative difficulty of our field target courses.
Shooters shot in four different divisions/classes based on their equipment and shooting style. We don’t give an award for high overall shooter however John Tyler was high shooter in the Hunter Division with a score of 55 out of 60 (which was the match high score as well). Brian Van Liew was high shooter in the Open Division with a score of 54/60 and John Stellwag took first place in the World Field Target Federation Division with a score of 52/60. We only had one shooter in Unlimited Class and no pistol shooters hence no awards.
