@jungleshooter, the regulator creeping above the set point typically requires a shot to get back to the set point. Some people live with it and others find it unacceptable, especially in a pesting/hunting situation. Get a PCP with a Huma reg and you don’t have to live with creep. As for the other factors in wandering POIs? @elh0102, summed it up well.

More information about what is happening. Yesterday I shot 8 magazines (.22). I would dry fire the rifle 5 times before I started shooting at targets. The POI was off and I had to correct with turret movement. Got it dialed in and it was darn near hole in hole at 50 yards. I then shifted to another target and guess what! My POI had shifted. Reajusted the turrets and again very accurate shooting...until I moved to another target.

Later in the day I moved from my bench rest to a Bipod to see if that made any difference. It did! Here's what I think. On my Caldwell bench rest the rifle lays on a padded rest beyond where the bottle attaches while the buttstock stays in the same position. When I would move to another target the bottle attached to the barrel band which is attached to the shroud, which is attached to the barrel had to experience some friction and ever so slight pressure from the front rest point on the bench rest. Note ! The POI spread was worse when I shot without the barrel band.

I shot late in the afternoon wiht the bipod only. I could switch to different targets and still hit a Starling sized target out to 50 yards either left or righ or up and down. The bipod attaches to the 'frame' part of the rifle. Groups in paper were not as good a when shooting off the bench rest but are maybe acceptable, I'll test more today.

The problem has to be that long unsupported barrel and shroud. A slight bump of the bottle when using a barrel band or from a slight pressure on the shroud from any source transmits through the mechanics to the barrel and it's anchoring. One would think FX has heard about this issue and would provide an aftermarket fix, under warranty.

I have learned that lots of folks experience the same calamity. Some are lucky and for some reason it doesn't happen with their same model of rifle. If I knew what that was I would fix it. Thought about spot welding the shroud at the insertion point of rifle. lol

I have owned only 2 FX rifles, a Crown and a Royale 400, both in .22. The Royale has been one of the most dependable air rifles I've ever owned. If I need to grab a rifle quick for pest control, it's either the Royale of the Taipan Veteran. I know that either one will shoot where I aim. The Crown was not a keeper for me, due to issues similar to your current experience. If I put it in the case and drove to a hunting site, I would have had no confidence at all in the rifle without checking for zero. And frankly, even after that I would have worried about the slightest bump in the woods. A lot of folks have fun sitting at the bench and tinkering with all the gadgets that FX is proud to provide, and that's great, but it's not for me.

Went out and shot a magazine. 5 dry fires with bipod. I didn't need more than one magazine because POA was almost POI at 50 and 75 yards. Now the proof will be if I load it into my truck and lay it on the seat, by the time I get to my permission will it still be accurate. My WAG as long as you shoot from a solid position on the rifle, be it bipod mounted or tripod with the gun resting on the picatinny underneath, that could make a big difference.

I only found 1 barell band that would fit on the dreamline with the CARBON FIBER bottle. Other bottles there are quite a few around. The man who sold me mine 3D prints them.
