O-ring Management Tip

This has been working pretty well for me, so I figured that I'd share in case it helps someone else. I started using simple binder clips to keep them organized by rifle(s).

I usually buy a set of each o-ring when I get a new airgun, and they go straight into a clip when I get them. They're real easy to search though this way too, like a book

You Uber-Organized people make me sick (read: jealous) That is an excellent idea. Thanks for sharing. If you clip them from the other end, you don’t even need to unclip every time, just open baggy and grab.

Good idea. For now I only have to keep one airgun o-ring set organized, for the ImpactX. There is two rebuilds per baggie, but there is so many that a pellet tin is packed full. The next airgun is the 452 Slayer, and with only 7 o-rings total to keep track of I'll be a happy camper!

Good idea, especially for the ones commonly replaced. I usually pack these in UPS / USPS bubble envelopes so I'm not too worried about the chances of losing any (it'd be a PITA if several dumped out though lol)

And those 7 are probably 10mm thick anyhow with all that beastly power, so you can just wear spears like bracelets in the field!

I sorta did the same with the o rings I bought from the same place, for my wildcat 30. I took each package, and labeled them where they go in a section of the gun, along with where in that section it goes. As an example, the FX Wildcat block is labeled as G1 in the parts diagram, and has five different sets of o rings. I took each o ring baggie for that area and labeled it “G1 Block”, and, say it was for the adapter fitting that bolts onto the block and to the air tube, I labeled that certain o ring zip lock baggie “block to air tube adapter”. So all these 5 sets of o rings in their own baggies go into one larger baggie, labeled FXWC G1 BLOCK.

Now, with the recent purchase of another wildcat in 25cal, I had to get creative and organize a separate baggie just for the barrel section, because everything else in the gun sections are the same for both guns. I even used a different color sharpie to label the 25 cal o rings(yeah, my nickname is MONK)

After I learned how to better organize the o rings for the wildcats, I ordered the o rings for my 25 cal Marauder and my PRod, and organized them the same way.

That's a smart idea labelling the bags like that. I've kept PDFs of each rifle schematic on my phone, but I've still managed to F up every now and then! Lol

i e asked this question before, and I’m hoping someone on this tread can answer it. Im fully stocked on O rings for the guns, the last thing I’d like to put kits together for is my hatsan lightning. I have a baggie of o rings from hatsan that came with the compressor, but if I were to make up my own, what type of O ring would be best used in a HPA compressor. I’m figuring the heat, vibration, may call for something better than Buna? How would Viton do in this application?

Hmm, I'd check with Hatsan and see what they recommend. They should shoot you straight given it's an HPA system. Then again, manufacturers don't always use the absolute best parts lol

If you wind up blowing some quicker than expected, then I would experiment - but they probably have different specifications for certain components anyways, so maybe see what they say first.

Or even better, a sharable shopping cart link. I'm going to try and talk one of the vendors into adding that feature (I know what's involved to make that work).

I put the o-rings in envelopes labeled as to what gun they fit. Works for me.
