Seeing as they are big pests and there are $5 bounties on them I'm surprised there is not much videos of air gunners hunting Nutrias in LA. Does any of the LA air gunners there hunt them?
You have to be part of the management program to collect the bounty. They are a blast to hunt. I actually know a few guys that eat them and when I kill a few at subdivision ponds or at dairy farm ponds, I'll bring them over to those guys for the brown gravy. I've tried them once and honestly can't tell much difference between them and rabbits.
They are a menace in small rivers and lakes in our area (San Antonio). . I mainly see them at night and within city limits. In Texas you need a hunting license to shoot them--even though they are a pest. And a fur stamp if you want to harvest that part of them. I am not sure what people do with nutria fur.
