One benefit of the cardboard box is maybe a little more cushion during shipping but probably not a big issue. Will a external label be on the plastic version? If it benefits you and the company go for the plastic.

NSA Question | New box or Old???

I this plastic box biodegradable? Because let be realistic how many boxes are going to keep? It’s going to be a point where you’ll get rid off them , and they will go to the land field so compare to a cardboard box those will get recycle properly, this is my humble opinion.

New box seems fine. Don't care unless ones cheaper then I'll take that. I can burn excess boxes in fire out back

You can send me your slugs in any box you want. However, I like those types of boxes and I will happily accept ammo in them.

The boxes seem okay to me too, i have had a few sent to me from Krale.
I also think the regular pellet tins are fine, but if you add some external padding it would not harm i am sure.
My airgun shop apparently always taken extra care shipping pellets VS orders i have gotten from other places that are just X amount of tins in a stack wrapped in a little bubble warp with 2 or max 3 layers.
But my guy seem to care a lot for pellet orders arriving in the best shape possible.
This shipment i was too fast so for the pictures i had already unwrapped the 2-3 layer of bubble wrap on the FX carbon fiber bottle, i think there is people shipping stuff and then there are other people shipping stuff.
I am hard pressed to ask for better shipping by my guy, of course this is the one time i have gotten something sent VS doing the 1.5 hour drive to pickup, but i hear this is the norm there.
As i understand it he have ordered some NSA slugs too, wonder how he will ship those.
IMO the #1 thing is to make sure your shipping guys have the tools, and know how to use them,,,, they are the first line representing your brand, as their work is the first thing customers see.
It have given me so much respect, that i am saving these foam thingies, and i will bring them with me next time i make the drive to the shop so they can be used again.
And the next time i go to the shop is, tomorrow,,, or so i would like, but i an chomping at the bit to go pickup my new rifle,,,,, and some more ammo, and maybe a little extra something - something as i have been a good boy lately so i deserve it.
Respect for the right reasons go a long way.

leave it as an option when ordering, if it costs a buck (or two) more - leave that for the customer to decide.

on second thought make the new boxes standard but offer the old boxes for an extra cost and have the employees use the old boxes at the end of the day
if it takes a few more days to ship the order with the old boxes so be it

I personally like the New box. Especially if it benefits you and the customers. Win win in my eyes. And as a Auto technician I can see myself reusing the boxing for separating my carbide bits, fastners and other small items that can turn into a disaster.

The cardboard boxes provide a layer of protection so my vote is to keep it, I don’t need more plastic boxes to throw away, it’s insane how many one time use plastic items that will out last human kind at this rate.
