We are working on new bullets this year, or at least modified bullets of our current offerings. We are going to offer some bullets we have had many requests for in the past. One is to a bullet tip to our hunting bullets. We going to start testing this in April/May and have ready for the 2019 hunting season. This is intended for big bore bullets only.
The picture below is the press we intend to use to seat our tips. We are looking at tips and hard balls as possible media to use. This has been requested in the past so decided to look at is more seriously now.
We are also working with Dave Corbin on a new hollow point design that by itself will make the nose of the bullet open up. That tooling is on order and we will start posting pictures as the tooling arrives later this month.
We have another feature we will be offering on our swage bullets coming that many people have asked for in the past. Not a new concept but we are going to experiment with knurling our bullets to reduce friction.
We have ordered a new automated knurling machine which will be used on our big bore calibers. We are only doing 45 caliber to test and if successful we will will offer in 35 cal and possible others too. We are waiting on the tooling for the machine to completed so we can test it out.
We are trying to also bring back cast bullets this summer. We had to stop offering them because we were too busy making swage slugs and we also use our automated casting machine to make our swage cores so it gets tied up doing that task. Now that have combined our shop into one and bought more equipment we feel we should be able to bring back our cast offerings. For those of you who have been asking for the last 6 months - we need a little more time to be ready for them.
