I saw that too in the Danish news, i also wonder if it had only been starlings as they can and will fly in pretty tight formations, something could cause a cascading collision event resulting in something like this.

But as this are some to me unknown species of birds i dont know if they behave like starlings will.

Seem like a lot of them come down but many seem to get on the wings again.

BTW when starlings flock like that it is called "black sun" here in Denmark, and it is one of the more spectacular phenomenons in nature to see here.
