Now a believer. First confirmed kill.

First confirmed kill with the .177.
Got a bird at approximately 50 yards with 10.34 grain JSB.
Complete pass through of the breast. I was holding 2 dots over with the scope so hit lower than I thought it would.
I was interested in the damage done so did an autopsy and was amazed at the mess it made on the inside.
Wasn’t sure what to expect but I definately believe it’s not a toy now.

What rifle and ftlb is it running ?

That is enough fpe for a squirrel IMHO. I tried hitting them with 12 fpe and had a few run off when I missed the brain. Since I turned the power up on my Prod to 17-18 at the muzzle, 14-15 on 25 yard impacts, they drop right there consistently. I tested penetration and it shoots through them pretty consistently on head or side body shoots. The few times it has angled back through the body it did not exit but penetrated the length of the body and they still dropped. A 177 at similar fpe should penetrate further with a domed pellet like I use. You might even want to consider a expanding pellet if your gun likes them.

Should be plenty for small birds.
