And yessir, I really enjoyed this one! It's funny you mentioned thinking of my P15..
It's my Only rifle that has a wood stock - As I usually try to Only go with black/synthetic..
Originally, I was going to sand it down, and shoot it with a soft touch black topcoat..
Now you're really making me think about doing something like you did..
But.. Maybe with a bit of a twist..
There's something called "RIT dye" - Usually used to dye cloth / clothing,
but it also works Great for dying other materials - I used to use it for nylon/plastic..
Adding some Black RIT to the mix would surely give a really nice darkened effect..
Either go sparingly and darken more and more with each coat, or,
go big or go home - use a lot, and just shoot for the darkest look possible.. Hmmm...
