I received my new Nova Freedom a few days ago and after cleaning the barrel I started to pump it up and test it. I thought I had read that several people had pumping seal problems after a few uses and I noted that a bottle of "methyl silicone" came with the gun so the question of pump lubrication came up. Buried in the manual the instructions were to add six drops of this oil after every 300 shots. But not knowing how well lubricated the pump was from the factory I added three drops of oil before I started pumping and another three drops after the tenth pump. Pumping is not too difficult but seeing I am 86 years old it did require some effort. I found the best position was to lay the gun in my lay and pump it with one or both arms. Pressure quickly rose to 200 bar.
Loading the magazine was simple and straight forward. My first test shots were on my basement range with lead free pellets. It performed very well and the side lever was very easy to operate. My basement range is only about 9 yards so I can not comment on distance accuracy at this time. I am not a proficient target marksman but I kept the ten shots in less than 3/8 ths of an inch with no serious effort. So far I am very well pleased with the gun and this self contained pump has a definite advantage. I hope to take it out to the range next week for more testing.
