Umarex Notos regulator issue

I have been trying to get my notos to group better. I have 2 barrels. One throws a lot of flyers. I pushed some 5.54 pellets through it and almost no resistance or choke. The other barrel is grouping OK. While adjusting the regulator to find the best fps, l have run into an issue. I was shooting 13.43 JSBs at 656fps. Pulled regulator and adjusted 1/2 turn counter clockwise and got 401fps. Pulled again and went back clockwise and got 550fps. Adjusted full turn clockwise and back to 401fps. Is there a way to put it back to original? Thanks for any help.

Reg up velocity down =need more hammer
Yep, I overlooked that detail. Fwiw, the principles of pcp tuning translate (for op) you may have different adjustment points but your issue on a notos is solved the same way the issue on an impact is solved. You can gleen some ideas from other tuning threads too. You need more smack on that valve pin.

The air acts as a compressing force agains the poppet valve. More pressure. More force required to open for a long enough time to accelerate projectile to sufficient speed. Smack too light valve closes early. Horse manure consistency and accuracy

And the same thing with lots of noise and low shot count if you have too much hammer mass and/or spring rate and not enough plenum pressure helping close that poppet valve.

I tend to suffer from not enough psi when my groups are wide open.

I should've clarified op. I know your mind.
I micro adjust obsessively. When the ref adjustment doesn't have a gauge to verify. And you cant adjust valve. Hammer spring is the entire ballgame and youre going to have to accept the optivelocity
