After installing the new plenum, do you absolutely have to take the OEM shroud/moderator off in order for the air tube to fit? Or is there enough room, even though the plenum kicks the tube forward by a couple of inches?

No it will only fit if you use something to remove part of the bottom of the moderator so the air tube can clear it. I used a angle grinder with a flap disc to remove it. I marked the bottom of the mod while it was installed then with the barrel off and air tube with plenum installed I marked how far up the plenum I needed to remove material. It worked fine doing it that way

Yeah, I had the same thought. Just grind enough away from the mod in order for the tube to fit. This way, the overall lengh remains the same. Which is a priority for me.
