Not Sold on Hollow Points for BIG Game with BIG Bores!!!

I have been watching this debate over hollow points for a while now.

From my experiance, I do not use a hollowpoint in a rifle nor a handgun for big game hunting.
I have always used a soft point in a rifle and a solid hard cast with a large flat meplate in my handguns.
Hollow points in my opinion are designed for self defence when pass through is not desired because you do not want an innocent bystander to be struck. All the energy is released into the target and you would want your projecticle become as large as possible to achieve this. The problem with some large hollow points is that they become clogged by clothing or fur and then become an expensive solid. Thus the invention of the ballistic tip for rifles to use on small game, varmints and predators. Although I still prefer solids for anything small game I intend to eat as to not blow the meat away or bloodshot the meat, another reason I prefer not to shot deer with rapid expanding bullets. There is more than enough damage and bloodshot from a soft point.
A deer shot with a cast bullet double lung shot or heart shot will not run out of earshot and I have always heard them crash up. Most of the time, within 30 to 50 yards.
Have you ever seen ammo built for dangerous game, I assure you, there are not any hollow points. They are all made of solids for complete bone shattering pass through and of a very large heavy diameter.

I have killed many deer at 200 yards with just a round ball out of a 58 cal muzzle loader. Again less than 50 yards with a double lung shot.
