Not enough air in diving bottle?

I have a 300 bar diving bottle to fill up my FX dreamline 0.22 and my Ataman AP16 0.22
Problem is the FX requires 230 bar and the Ataman 300 bar...
I don't want to fill up my bottle every week to have 300 bar in the bottle...How do you guys solve this?

Seems your only option is to get a compressor. But, just because your Ataman has a 300 bar capacity doesn’t mean you have to fill it all the way. I have three 300 bar guns and I never fill them all the way, and I have a compressor.

There is something to be said for air guns that operate at lower pressures. You will need a compressor or a hand pump if you want to shoot the Ataman at 300 bar repeatedly.

I had a hand pump and compressor before I got a bottle, I understood that there would be a limited number of high-pressure fills off of my small bottle, but I was still shocked at how much it went down just from one refill.

This only presents a problem if you are hunting. Then you want your guns filled up for the most shots. When target shooting just do one top off of the 300 bar gun and then leave the tank tethered. You can shoot all the way to reg pressure and get a ton of shots out of a 7L. Same with the fx. Once the tank is 230 bar leave it tethered and shoot and shoot and shoot. Remember your gun only has to be above reg pressure. It doesn’t have to be filled.

I tether with regulated fill valve(s). One is set for 250bar for my 300 bar guns. The other is set for 200 bar for my 200-250 bar guns.

Sounds like a good setup. Tethered is the way to go especially if you don’t have a compressor to fill the bigger bottles. The shop is going to charge the same no matter on the refill so you might as well shoot the tank as low as possible.

I have a Tuxing dual cylinder compressor, 3 9L, 2 6.8L, 1 3L, 1 1.6L and various 1.1L bottles. I just like playing with new toys and spotted the adjustable fill regs on AliExpress last year.

Where they work really well is the 1.6 & 1.1L bottles and my back pack. Those are light enough and physically small enough to haul around all day.

Now if I could just quit turning my rifles into boat anchors...

For me, less than a full fill is much more of an issue target shooting than it is for hunting. One magazine would be a good day hunting. For my guns that means no more than 10 rounds. 30 yard challenge targets take 24 shots.

I have two 300 bar airguns and can't really get even one 300 bar fill from my 6.7 liter bottle filled to 300 bar. I'd have to overfill a little to get even one. But it isn't worthwhile in my opinion. I usually refill the bottle when it gets in the 3000-3400 psi range. I just upped the regulator on my Avenger to 2600 psi so it is the highest. A 3000 fill wouldn't give me many shots but a 3500 fill would be pretty useful - at least enough for a day's hunting.

I tether 300 BAR rifles to 9 or 12 L 300 BAR bottle and do get 300 when i connect after a fill of the 9L bottle, but then the rifle is just down to 170 - 180 BAR when i fill the big bottle.
I can not be bothered with filling rifle constantly.
So if i want to shoot my old 200 BAR FX Cyclone, well it will have to wait until i have shot down a 300 bar bottle down to that, or i can use my old 200 BAR steel tank ( 12 L ) but it is currently used by my M8 as his own bottle have valve handle / knob issues.
And he use that for his 230 BAR DRS so with that he is never up there.

I have recommended him to get a 300 BAR 9L bottle but then just fill it to the 230 he need for the DRS.

There is also the option of a inline regulator, but my shopaholic brain have never been down that path.

In your case @Roadrunner777 i would just fill to 230 and shoot the ataman pistol with that, even if it do put a dent in shot count.

You can setup two diving bottles and cascade them.

Use one bottle to do the bulk of the filling (up to whatever pressure there is in that bottle) and reserve the other bottle to top of the reservoir to maximum fill pressure.

Is it a good option to buy a 1.1 liter bottle and a compressor? (and get rid of the 7L bottle)

I recently bought a 3 liter bottle with fill valve and whip for $206.00. It fills to 4500 psi with no strain on my GX CS4-i and provides more air than I can use at one sitting. The Panthera is tethered at 250 BAR.
