Not a new shooter (been at it since '61). Bought a Crosman Model 760 Pumpmaster.

It was on sale for $29.99. I bought the piece to eliminate some of the annoying Rock Pigeons (these are legally pests where I live). I find their noise annoying and have no compunction when it comes to killing these "rats with wings". Granted, the .177 caliber doesn't carry much weight, but my ranges are about 10-15 yards. I figure a well placed shot will eliminate the filthy beggars.

Any suggestions on baiting them?

I buy 100 lbs of feed (grain a month, Cost about 1 dollar a day......
at tractor supply I buy 50 lbs of chicken scratch, 11.00 bucks
Then I buy a 50 lb bag of wild bird seed 18.00 bucks , I mix them together.
Then I fill up four bird feeders every day,
Like I say about a dollar a day, I only shoot the bad birds, Never the good ones....

Unfortunately, I spent the last of my "disposable income" on the rifle, BB ammunition and two (2) automatic knives. (I found such great bargains that I couldn't resist)! If you go to Blade HQ you can find a GT (OTS) GT-104 2" ATS-34 blade and 4.75" OAL knife that retails for $150.00 for $38.94. I also bought a Gonzo Model G719 with a 440C 58 Rc hardness on Fast Tech for $18.49 including shipping, These will last a long, long time. (You'd buy them too).

I'm just looking to kill the Rock Pigeons that crap all over the front porch of the house where I live. I'm not interested in shooting the local songbirds, just the "non-indigenous" pests (Rock Pigeons are not protected).

Thanks for the knife info. I love knives too. Just picked up a spyderco Burch chubby. Almost everything likes black oil sunflower seeds. Took my first BB gun to India in 1968. Dad was a medical missionary. When I ran out of BB's he found the closest size ballbearings and kept me going. When everyone else was making slingshots out of branch Y's and tire tube strips, he got me some surgical tubing 😳 I had some serious distance with that. 😬
