Hi everyone.

I'm new to pcp hobby and ownership.Me and my boy had fun shooting bb rifles on the backyard but it wasn't enough for me.After little research I decided to get into pcps.I want to get big bore rifle in the future but for starter I wanted something smaller (cheaper lol).Like many I fall in love with Sumatra and after looking around and reading a little I figured out career is basically the same rifle with magazine upgrade.I believe I get lucky and I purchased career in .22 with scope for 285$.Turns out rifle was in great shape (I didn't know auction purchase). Is super fun to shoot I love it!!!But is sooooo loud.Another little research and I find out it is not career ll but MK1 pressure gauge is on front and for suppressor I would need to do some mods,I start checking a gun for my surprise my muzzle is treated .Now back to noob stuff lol,do I identify rifle correctly? What is good but not expensive silencer for that rifle and how to stored?I read 1000psi.Other thing which is baffles me ,gauge on the gun reads 1000 psi less than pump gauge (yes i using hand pump hahaha)which reading I should go with?

It is not a Mk1. Those came with peeps and no threaded muzzle plus only 3 power positions . You do know that you can turn the power down to almost nothing , right? Experiment with the power wheel . It can be turned up or down without cocking it, but may allow even lower power settings if you turn it down AFTER being cocked. It has a different than most thread on the muzzle but Alan Z and others made cans for them way back when they were being sold.

That's a very good buy and a very good rifle. The pellet shuttle can only be adjusted for 1 type at a time, as it has a pellet stop that defines the length and is fairly critical. It will shoot only domes and was originally designed for the Dae Sung 31 grain, but the MkII also gave a pellet shuttle adjustment that can handle shorter ones... like the H&N Baracudas .... the favorite of mine. I also shoot Crosman 14.3s in mine most of the time and the are quite accurate to 50ish yds but you have to adjust it evey time you change to a different type and that entails pulling off the main body cap... the part the buttstock is fastened to. Only 2 screws on the Mk1, not absolutely certain on the MkII.

Go with the gauge on the pump. The Career 707 gauge is cool and all, but not typically accurate .

Hope this helps some.

That is a really good gun to start with. I still have a MKII and it’s a tack driver with just about every kind of pellet I’ve put through it. The threads on the muzzle are 10x1. The worst part is that the can has to have an extension on it to clear the fill port, a problem that the Sumatra didn’t have. I started out pumping also and didn’t take long to find a scuba tank. Mine is .22 caliber and it will launch a 21 gr Baracuda supersonic. They are very potent rifles.
