Non-regulated performance

What would be considered "good" as far as a non-regulated shot string. I have an Airforce Condor .25 that is pretty accurate for what I use it for...hunting. I have had this gun for 10 years and when I first started I had no clue what I was doing. I would fill to 3000psi, crank the power wheel to max and shoot until I thought it was time to fill up...I always noticed that it would shoot really low at the beginning and it would finally start hitting where I had it sighted in. I didn't own a chronograph when I first started so there I was shooting away for several years until I finally read about something called a "bell curve." A light finally came on and that was when I purchased a chronograph and started charting my shots. Now I am filling to 2100psi, power wheel set at 2, and getting better accuracy/consistency out of this gun. Accuracy is nothing compared to a lot of the targets that I see on the forum but like I said it does great for what I use it for...mainly Pigeon eradicating. So with this being said here is a sample string...would like to hear any comments. Thanks!

Shots # 8 through shot # 22 is where I would work/use the airgun. That would give you 15 shots with a roughly 20-25 fps extreme spread from 860 to about 880 ish’ fps. I would think from common respectable airgun ranges (0 to 50/60 yards) your POI drop would be minimal, and the airgun would be highly effective. Whatever pressure your gun is at on shot #8, that’s where I’d fill to, and then shoot down to whatever pressure you reach when at shot #22 and then re-pressure. I would work in that pressure range.

Non regulated performance can be as good as regulated performance. I have a .25 FX Royale non regulated that gets 50 shots with the JSB Kings from 240b to 170b fill and maintains an ES of 20 FPS. I’ve had a .177 Brocock Bantam unregulated that would provide similar performance. Sometimes the addition of a regulator is to keep the buyers happy and has little to do with performance, assuming the manufacturer took the time and effort to design a hammer and valve system that worked properly across a broad range of inlet pressures.

Had very similar results with both of mine as well. Non regulated guns one less thing to worry about. The unregulated Brocock Bantam HiLite is unbelievable so are the KRALS which I wouldn't buy had it not be for their non regulated consistency. Don't knock the Benjamin Discovery and Maximus and Crosman Challenger 1701P and 1720T as well. Daystate Renegade and Regal XL too.
