Nomad 2 Operating Advice from Air Venturi

To all Nomad 2 owners: I just acquired a slightly used Nomad 2 and wanted to run proper basic maintenance on it before using it so I called AV to make sure I fully understood the procedure. During the course of the conversation, the tech advisor said that after connecting to her air gun she leaves the bleed valve open when she starts the compressor to let everything even out before she closes the valve and applies the full load onto the compressor. This makes sense since a lot of our fellow airgunners who have the YH compressor do the same. She also mentioned that she had made requests to have the Nomad Operators Manual updated with this procedural change.

Thought it was worth mentioning to this group. Best regards!

another thing that helps with the procedure is a check valve inline with the tank that way you can bleed off air anytime to unload the compressor ...

...but the bottle has a check valve?

EXACTLY - and this also allows the compressor to start up at zero pressure even with the valve closed. Just remember to bleed and then re-close if you shut it off mid fill. The filter and hose will have no pressure in it and will build pressure at the compressors rate of flow until it opens the check valve. This only happens when the pressure in hose exceeds that which is already in the gun.
