Ninja reg valve replacement?

Ninja reg for pcp’s, 3k output has a ball and spring as a valve. Cant see the ball in thr pic but its in there. Adapter block has a detent to open the valve, but made for a pin valve which sits flush and not recessed. When this one screws in, nothing pushes the ball in. Air up and it holds, just nothing past the block.

Not being really familiar with these type of regulators, can the ball and spring be swapped for a pin type? Would an regulator extension work? Bonnet swap? Besides keeping air in the reg and bottle when removed, is there any reason to keep the valve installed? Apologies if im asking stupid or basic questions. Id rather err with caution and safety than FAAFO the hard way. Thanks in advance for responses.

I haven’t tried swapping a ball for a pin but I’m sure it could be made to work. Might require swapping the seal or something along those lines.

But if you plan to install the bottle on the gun and leave it there, you can go ahead and remove the ball and spring. They serve no other purpose than holding pressure when the bottle is by its lonesome.

I have that regulator. I was using it on a paintball tank and tethering it to my gun with a hose. It requires a different adapter than the less expensive regs I have. The one it needs has the longer pin to be able to open the reg.
Let us know if changing the ball out works, I might could get one from my other regs to work, I hadn't thought about trying to swap it out.
