Unfortunate news and thanks for the tip. Just placed an order for another Nikon EFR 3-9x40AO. One of my favorite airgun scopes.

Nikon made decent scopes but I see a ton of refurbs for sale. They only warrant their refurbs for 90 days. Maybe they were losing money on the business.

The problem I see is at some point in the not too distant future is the Nikon scopes you buy now, or the ones you currently own, won't be able to be fixed when the current inventory of parts run out.

This is exactly what happened with the earlier Premier optics Co, and these were $2500 dollar scopes back then, so if one breaks that person is SOL.

FYI, someone on another board linked to where this same statement was made years back. And they still are making scopes.

The thought is to take this with a grain of salt...
