Night vision retailer recommendation?

Hey All,

I know I recently asked about NightVision, but, Anybody bought night vision from a retailer that they would highly recommend? I had found a fantastic website, but there’s never anybody knowledgeable there to help on the phone.

Looking to take my night game to the next level, and would appreciate member feedback on a great product, great customer service and return policy. It’d be nice to actually talk to a retailer experienced in NV.

Like everything else out there; the stuff ain’t cheap, and I’d rather buy once, cry once.

If you want to cry once, go thermal. Utah Airguns has an ATN thermal scope which is a great deal. I have this exact model and its great.

do you have excellent target recognition with your ATN?

That is one question I have when switching from my digital scope (Sightmark Photon XT), is clarity of targets when going thermal.

I think if you want to clearly see what you are shooting, this ATN thor won't cut over 50 yards. Even at thirty yards, its a little hard to tell the difference between a raccoon and a really big cat or between a skunk and a cat. You could try identifying your target by watching the way they walk but even then it's hard to tell if you have a short time frame to make your decision. Bigger animals it very easy to identify. And also the environment you are in helps. When I'm out in the desert, the chances of seeing a house cat is zero but if you are at the house hunting raccoons, the risk of shooting your neighbor's cat is higher.

I mainly hunt raccoons at night. I’ve got one permission farm, where I’ve popped 14 total the last two times I went.

I don’t hunt past 50 yards. But, target recognition is of the utmost importance to me.

Really like my ATN 4K pro 3-12 at those ranges, and reasonably priced, and I do own Gen 3 NV as well as thermals.

do you have a contact/sales person from your prior NightVision purchases that you would recommend?

For Gen 3 NV I have had good service from Nightvision4less and TNVC. For digital NV I have bought from ATN direct, and Opticsplanet, which has a decent return policy, which can be important if you choose a product that is not as you expected.
