Night vision dialed in!

We had a super fun night at one of our permissions last night! Spent about 2 hours spotting eye balls and getting used to the Pard NV007. Ratting is a lot more fun than I expected! The .30 Wildcat was devastating.

lol @ 30 cal ... yeah - I'd think that should do the job! I was tempted to get one of the Pards but then saw a review for a US based one by Sightmark called the "Wraith". I bought one - it's nice and I have used it for a few ratties - in the dark. It is *cool* - it's just like you see here on fb videos - grey scale (b&w) with glowing eyes . . . in general I'm happy with it - it doesn't record audio though which is kind of a bummer. You can record - but video only. My rat wacking has so far been with a little .177 M-Rod - not a .30 cal bazooka! 😂

I'm not sure if the Pard does audio either... will find out this week. Yeah the .30 makes a very notable "thwack" when you zing one. I am looking into a smaller caliber with a better optic for the up close stuff. The Pard is nice because you can switch it from one rifle to another and us it off the rifle as a spotting scope! :)

I might get one of those Pards. They are advertised as "High-strength earthquake resistance". So I assume that means that they can good for springers too. Double plus!!

Thanks for sharing!

LOL yeah I read that in the "instruction" manual. Earthquake proof lol! I am very pleased with the unit so far. Does what I need and is reasonable $$$. It has pro's and cons but everything does. I tell you what it makes ratting a whole lot more fun!!!

Yep I just ordered the Pard NV008 lRF after lugging around my earlier model of the ATN X-Sight 3-12x. That thing worked okay but it was bulky and ate through the four AA batteries in no time making it necessary to use a battery pack adding even more weight. I just watched the Youtube video on Airgunology by Steve Allan comparison between the newer ATN 4k and the Pard NV008 LRF and in my and Steve's opinion the Pard wins hands down. In just the weight department alone the Pard NV008 LRF weighs just under 16 ounces compared to my set-up of close to 3.84 lbs. Since moving into the country and securing more permissions that need NV work the price of the Pard is more justified for me. Bill
