Aloha Gang, got this boar last month. Shot him using a Night Owl scope (Thanks Centercut for the review). Shot him around 11:00 and didn’t hit the sack till the wee hours of the morning.... The next day I looked and felt like part of the cast of the Walking Dead. After work I went home to finish cutting and packing the meat. FINALLY had dinner at 10:00 and a Cold one! In my younger days I wouldn’t think twice about taking a pig late at night and working the next day. Now a days I think a warm bed is more appealing..... Yes, Pineapple is gettin soft.... HAHAHAHA Brahdah going be laying off hunting pigs for now since the freezer is full AND I need to FORGET why I don’t hunt at night....

Thanks guys! Gun is a Georgia Power Tuned 25cal Cricket shooting 33’s a little over 900... I think 907 last time I crony’d her.

Running a Night Owl Night Shot that I picked up after reading Centercut’s review. Also running an additional IR light to conserve battery on the Night Owl. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much BUT was quite Surprised at the picture quality and clarity of the scope! Thanks Centercut! The scope also lets me select one of many scope reticles. I choose the “white” crosshairs as I found it works best (for me) on black pigs. Last but not least I have a Donny Sumo to soften the bark even more.

It was the first time shooting this rig so I wanted to make sure I anchored the Boar. I shot him at twenty three yards but feel I could comfortably shoot out to thirty/thirty five yards once I get more lead time with this scope.

Nice pig! Lots of pulled pork on that one. The Night Owl makes hunting at night much easier, even better when there’s no moon and it’s very dark. I think the additional IR light is essential for two reasons. First like you said is to conserve battery life on the scope by allowing you to turn off the built in IR. Secondly an add on is usually much brighter and more powerful than the built in light and gives the scope a brighter and clearer picture. Like you said, the Night Owl is surpringly good for the money.

Congrats on the pig, and super nice .25 rig. You should be dancing the jig, and roasting kalua pork with fig... ;)
