newbie ! was looking for airgun club local here in henrico va.

Wait till you try a PCP! I suggest watching bunches of video reviews and buy carefully. I bought a few guns that I shouldn’t have and sold them at a loss. I’d also say don’t fall for the fastest shooting gun, that can make pellets unstable and not accurate. Tons of great information here, especially when you are asking about a certain gun. Have fun!!

Thanks DaveLarson yeah I was looking this morning at pcp just don’t know what to get or if anything is good under 300 dollars because then I will have to buy a air tank and compressor witch I have a shop compressor will that work?? Will this be good for varment killing and planking

Gamo Urban PCP Air Rifle, Bolt Action, .22 Caliber, 24.5" Barrel, 10 Rounds

Your compressor will not work, most guns are 2000 to 3000 psi per fill. You could buy a high pressure hand pump. I didn't care for the hand pumping so l bought a 700.00 tank. Had it filled at dive shop but got tired of having to take it so l bought a 650.00 Altarous booster and a 200.00 27 gallon compressor to feed it. So for 1600.00, l can fill my guns. It is not a cheap sport to get into. Don

Sure, that’s not a bad place to start. But watch as many reviews as possible and maybe search here for pcp guns that are used. I’ve had excellent luck buying and selling here. Folks are always upgrading to a different gun and you can find good deals in the classifieds for sure. Also you can get away with a hand pump for filling, unless you are too old like me. Maybe try a search here for older posts about entry level pcp guns. Don is right it’s not cheap to get into, but if you really like shooting it’s the best. Quiet, accurate and very addicting for certain. Good luck!

My wife will have my ass lol ! But very nice set up you have! I’ve been out back zooming in at 100 yards and it’s taken me about 2 hours to get this group not bad I think!! Think I found the pellet it likes it’s the gamo MATCH classic.177 not bad and don’t make fun of my targets either lol they where cheap! Good for planking but what about this gun ? And I’m going from .177 to .22

AirGunBeginner45,

Springers are fun and rewarding to shoot if you get a good one. I've got a RWS 34 with a vortek kit installed that shoots great! That being said the true airgun experience for me is in the PCP realm. I've also got an FX Impact that is awesome! I can hit walnuts 9/10 at a 100 yards if i hold for the proper wind. If you're balling on a budget or saving up i have heard awesome things about the Umarex Gauntlet! At a price point of $250, you get a bottle fed gun that is regulated and has a 10 shot magazine. The gun gets up to 60 shots from what I've read. That being said,I personally have never owned one, i know that they have their issues but they are well documented.

Thanks,

Eric
