Newbie Trigger Question - Thank you in advance

Hi All,

I am taking up Air rifle (Hunter class FT) and trying to pick a Rifle. Moving over from Rimfire.

Question - Do any Spring rifles have a trigger with a "wall" more like a Rimfire? I pulled an old Diana 34 out of the closet to get started but the trigger just pulls through and fires without any real stop point. The surprise release followed by that giant Twang noise/feel is giving me a flinch.

I would like a very predictable break if at all possible.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Gio

Rekord trigger for best common AG.

True competition Match Grade? Yeah Rekord is almost perfect with a very slight bit of break in or polishing.

If we're talking super fine ceramic bearing Sears? Chip Smith, Dawson.
I think you should look at Thomas Airguns. Specifically made for .177 FT and precision don't get no better. But these are for PCP.

Any trigger can have play taken out with nylon washers. A travel stop can be added. A metal trigger blade. Lots can be done with your trigger.

How old is that Diana? The newest generation have the T06 trigger that is adjustable and by all reports can be as nice as the Rekord on the HWs.

Yep, I totally agree with this. I adjusted the T06 on a 34 Pro Compact to be just as nice as the Rekord's on my HW's. They can be set up with a clear second stage wall and a very crisp break. There are some good explanations and videos on how to adjust the T06 if you search around.

The adjustment screw is out too far. Turn it back in a little at a time until you get the second stage stop back. Then very slight fine tuning to optimize your adjustment. You won't have the fastest horse in the race but you can still race.

I'd rather be a racer for a moment than a spectator for a lifetime

Thanks to everyone for the great and prompt replies. It is a TO6. I will pull up some videos and try to adjust. Started looking at a Air Arms tx200 but I will try a few matches with my 34 first.

Unrelated and probably wrong area to post but - is a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24 decent for HFT? Like rimfire I know there are lots of options but I am big on good glass so trying to get the best. Thank you again.
