Newbie reg pressure question

Hello All,
I am the proud new owner of a BRK Ghost HP .22. Bought a couple of days ago, hadn't had the chance of messing around with it yet. I read in the manual that in order to decrease the reg pressure the proper procedure is to unscrew the bottle, fire a few shots tonrelease the remaining air and then decrease. My question is how low can it be set? Is there any issue if I set it to the absolute minimum ( think is 50?) in order to maximize shot count or just to see if it likes lower weight pellets at that tune?

50 bar is very low, and I’ve never heard of anyone setting it that low. I believe in all my readings from other members experiences 80 bar was the lowest, and it didn’t matter which gun. Running at too low a reg really doesn’t do the reg any favors, either as your close to closing it off.

But to answer your question whatever you decide to set it at that’s where it stays till you decide to change it again.

Do yourself a favor and go on huma air’s website. Under the customer support section somewhere they have a write up in the regulator setting procedure on typical settings for certain calibers, which are more than likely the same types of setting followed by manufacturers. The longer you’re in this game and you start looking at gun specs you’ll see common speeds and energy for say 22 caliber at like 925 fps, 25 caliber being at 900 FPS, and 30 cal somewhere in the 840-860 FPS. What we as consumers do by turning a 30 cal into a fire breathing 1020 FPS slug shooter you’ll never see come from a manufacturer out of the box, typically.

So yes, read that section on huma’s website to give yourself a good baseline of which reg setting to follow
