Newbie needs guidance

Hello all

I'm brand new at this and think I want to get a PCP airgun.

There's no one in my area to help so I thought I would ask here.

Sorry if this is a frequently asked question, but I searched the board a little and didn't see what I was looking for.

So, can someone recommend a good quality gun that will last me awhile?

From what I've read online, I'd like a semi automatic, regulated and would like to buy a tank too.

If I've missed anything, feel free to chime in.

What is the general consenus on tanks, scuba, carbon fiber, filling etc?

Does anyone on this board know of any dealers in the South Jersey area?

Thanks for any ideas

Bob

I can tell you that both the Huben K1 and LCS SK19 both are extremely fun to shoot and a large 4500psi carbon fibre tank or 2 or maybe even 3 are necessities as well as a place that can refill it otherwise you're going to need to buy yourself an expensive compressor if you want reliable fills especially since you mentioned you want a regulated semi auto you're gonna go through a lot of fills and a ridiculous amount of ammo as well (no kidding!). I can comment that my 2 year old Huben K1 has been reliable so far but can't comment on my 22 LCS SK19 since I only had it for a few weeks but I liked it enough to really want to buy a second one in 25 caliber. Yo!

Thanks for the welcome.

Not final on a budget. I'd like to see what my options are. I see some guns can be in the $2000 range but I don't know if I want to be there.

Like I said, not sure.

Use would be for sport/target shooting and not hunting or anything like that.

My experience, well years ago I worked at and shot a lot of trap at a local club.

Recently I joined a local gun club and shoot my 9mm handgun, and 9mm carbine there.

Also have (don't laugh) a Daisy ADULT mind you Red Ryder that I use in the yard to plink around with.

Also looking for a source for add ons for the Daisy. Front sight is my first project.

So, I'm not a guru, but have a basic understanding of things.

So I'm toying with the idea of the PCP to take to the range as a somewhat lower cost to shooting, after the initial expense of course.

Thanks for the reply

Bob

There's a $1500 used 22 Steyr Hunting5 semi auto on the AGN CLASSIFIEDS here right now. That is an accurate and reliable fun semi auto and a pretty good deal for a Steyr Hunting5 semi auto. I paid more than $2300 for mine with only one extra magazine and that one for sale I think has 5 magazines that cost $55 each and his has a good silencer included too and those guns are REALLY SUPER LOUD without silencers. Yo!

What is your reasoning about not wanting a semi automatic?

Also, how do I get rid of the double spacing, and is it possible to insert a "Quote"

It's good to see such an active board.

My hobby for the past 46 years has been flying radio control model aircraft and those boards are very quiet lately.

That hobby got me to Iraq flying unmanned aircraft and I still work in that industry.

Thanks again for the ideas and help

Bob

No, the Daisy is just a run of the mill Red Ryder for backyard plinking.

Lots of fun though. I shot it 600 time this past weekend.

Any ideas where to get a good front sight for it?

Thanks

Bob

I never had any issues buying and receiving any used air gun. I don't live in a restricted state like you do. I can only speculate it would need to be shipped to your FFL? Since airguns are classified as firearms in your State? Yo!
