Newbie needs advice on shooting

I would like to mention, fit the gun to your body not your body to the gun. You should be able to hold it comfortably with out trying to hold your eye closer or further from the scope to find the right relief. You shouldn't have to mash your check down , or hold it up to get correct eye relief. If your going to shoot standing, fit the riffle in that position. Hold the gun up, with the scope rings loose, have a buddy move it forward or backward until you don't have to move your head to see comfortable threw the scope. If you need to hold your chin up, then use lower profile rings, or use some kind of check comb. If to low use higher profile rings. Sometimes the riffle is just unbalanced. You may need a longer, or shorter scope, maybe add or cut out weight in the front or rear of the gun. Learn the artillery hold. Shouldering the gun do you need to move your head at all to get a perfect sight picture?

Here are a couple vid links that explains it better than I can

Well...I'm a bit late to this post, but having shot everything from springers back in the '70's, up to my current .25 Vet pcp...I've found the cheapest, lightest, handiest accessory on an airgun is a simple folding bi-pod. You don't need a $300 Atlas either...just an Ebay, Amazon, Pyramydair folding bi-pod, and add a short picatinny rail to the order. The picatinny rail is easily screwed into the forearm of just about any airgun, and it's handy to buy a bi-pod with a "Quick Detach/Quick Release" so you can easily take it off when you don't need it.

Prone is the best way, in my humble opinion, to vidio a shot, using a simple, small, folding bi-pod. You can't get steadier than that, unless you are using a bench rest, or a gun vise to hold the gun. Lie flat with you elbows on the ground. The bi-pod and gun will get seriously steady in this position.

The important thing is to have fun and find the quickest, easiest, most effective way to take your shots/videos...everyone here loves to watch videos!!!
