Newb in a way

Hi just joined but have been lurking. I had a old daisy lever type when I grew up as a kid I am looking to buy a nice pellet gun. Money is not an issue at all. But looking for something accurate and lasts a while. Would like to get some opinions on what you think I should go for. I think from what I read I would like a .22 type cal but still open to whatever. Primary would be squirrel hunting. Bastids keep eating up everything on my bird feeders no matter what I do. They are not shy either can dam near walk up to them and feed them. Ill feed them some pellets from now on

The HW95 field pro on the banner at the top of the page is all you could want in a squirrel rifle. The package scope gets mixed reviews, but the rifle can be handed down to grandkids. I have an HW97 and TX200, both nice underlevers, but heavy to carry around.

hi im new also to airguns and went crazy buying pcp rifles and springers airtanks you name i would suggest trying a reputable springer or gasram break barrel to start like rws mod 34 .22 or a weihrauch hw series 80 or 95 . i love my new hw50s .177 quality is remarkable. hope this helps .

Well here is the low down. I picked up two pellet guns. The price was such I could not pass on them Near free.
Daisy Powerline model 1000 in .177
Ruger Airhawk .177
Now the question is what improvements do it make?

First, welcome to air-gunning, hotrod!

My humble advice to you: Start shooting. Decide on a distance from your target to sight in the guns. For rifles, I like sighting in at 50 feet. Fashion something for a steady rest. I use a camera tri-pod with a hackey-sack sitting on the shoe for increased stability. If you're like most of us, you'll go through a lot of pellets sighting in your airgun, but that's all part of the fun to me. In my opinion, this should be done with open sights if the guns have them. Save the scopes for later when you get comfortable with the trigger and firing characteristics. It took me a long time to get comfortable with the feel of firing a spring rifle. They tend to demand a little more skill to shoot, so be patient and hone your zombie trigger squeeze. The need for improvements will make themselves known as you go.
