Hi all,

I have recently ventured into making videos for Youtube and I would like to share some of my pesting footages with fellow airgun enthusiasts. I am also learning how to use Final Cut for my editing and hopefully my videos will be both entertaining and informative moving forward.

Here is my latest upload. Enjoy!

Max,

Nice video work! [Youtube like # 1 here]
I'm a photographer but far from a videographer.. But, I still enjoy playing around..
And I enjoy testing new gear, so, I have a bunch of different things for both..

I really enjoyed the cinematic feel your video has, and on my 110" projector screen, this would look rad!

If you'd like some constructive criticism - gear related - Here's my $0.02

For super smooth panning shots, video stabilization is nice, it takes out most of the shakes,
but a 'gimbal' will greatly improve the steady flow and eliminate all if not almost all shake / chop / etc.
*I've used them with my aerial video platforms for years and years and they're fantastic!
When used hand-held, they're a game changer for sure!

Another really cool option - Sliders. Either manual or electric.
I haven't bought any, but, I've made a bunch over the years.. And they give killer results too.
Horizontal, diagonal, etc..

For fun, I just grabbed an adjustable motorized cam mount for use with my mini cams, and it's a blast!
It can move in a straight direction, or angle the arms/feet and it'll spin also..
The nice thing is - it can also be set on a flat surface or a standard slider to make add automation..

For video styles like this, those things would rock!

Either way, ya did a killer job! Keep up the great work!

😃👍

Hi Sam,

Greatly appreciate your feedback and suggestions!

I recorded the footage using my iphone unfortunately (gopro was inside the mount lol), so there were some shakes that I couldn't correct under Final Cut as I am still a newbie with the software.

I am glad you guys enjoy the footage as much as I did editing it. It is quite addictive (like AG), to be honest, with making youtube videos.

I didn't start this youtube thing till two months ago when my buddy got us a permission at a horse stable. I started taking some videos with my gopro and iphone and decided to make my 1st video. I guess I have gotten braver and continue to take videos of our pesting permissions.

I apologize if my earlier videos are not well constructed and quite RAW, but I will do my best to learn on the fly and get creative. With the Side Shot and my own Gopro 7, I can add better pesting footages to my next videos.

Thank you all for the warm greetings! Cheers

Alex

Right on Alex!

It sounds like you're off and running with this stuff.. Awesome!
Glad to hear that you're really enjoying all of it also. Sometimes the editing/post-process thing can be annoying/frustrating..
That's 'my' issue. I've used every photo/video editing software out there - Still have Sony Vegas Pro which I use now..
But man can it test my patience. hahaha
I miss the times when I used Apple/Mac - They've got some fantastic programs - like Final Cut!
IMO, FC is so much more user friendly.

Hey, since your already using FC and Youtube - if you ever get stuck, there's like a billion tutorials for tips/tricks on there!
It's great to have such a huge source for things like this.

You guys that are patient enough to get great results from your edits Really have my respect!
Right around 15 years with dabbling with video edits, and my skills are worse than a four year old. 🤣

Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing!

🙂👍

Very nice work and believe me I can appreciate the time it took just to get a short little video like this out. You did an excellent job on the filming and made the presentation very artful with good music. A good tip would be to slow video down a bit that in turn will smoothen it out, it's all practice really. Thanks for sharing, that is a beautiful rifle indeed!! 😊

@DirtyDovi. thank you. yes it is a lot of work with editing especially being a newbie, but FC is a very powerful and I truly enjoy its features and ease of use. There are many cool features and tools that I have yet to scratch the surface. I am learning everyday and I am glad there are a lot of useful tutorials out there at our finger tips.

I just want to go out there with my SideShot and capture some pesting shots and being creative with footages to make it entertaining to watch.

@Crosman. thank you for the compliment. I was very excited to share this video after it was done as I was super happy with the content and end result. And yes, lots of area I can improve upon with the camera. I had my GoPro 7 black inside the mount which I should have used to film it with. But I was pesting at the time and I was looking at my rifle on the rack and I thought, "hmm, this could be a good angle shot". lol so I started to film with my iPhone with some time to kill.

I will continue to create so stay tune.

thanks for watching

Alex
