Just wanted to share a few initial thoughts on Hatsan’s Vortex Strike .25 cal 24.7gr pellets.
Ordered from Midway USA. First time last time. 3 tins just tossed in a bubble mailer. I’ve only checked one tin and surprisingly not to many dented skirts.
The outsides of these pellets look pretty decent. Unfortunately I found quite a bit of flashing in the back of the skirts.
They will definitely need to be cleaned. I weighted a few and they seemed pretty consistent. Here’s the weights from the three with the bad flashing.
So before the rain blew in I got just a few shots down range. From my 380mm Crown tuned for AA 25.4’s at 865fps they were shooting right at 865-870fps POI was pretty much dead on my AA 25.4 zero.
I only got an 8 shot group at 50yds. They were stacking pretty nicely.
Overall fun to test a new pellet but unless they get the flashing problem figured out and I can find a distributor other than Midway USA I’ll just stick with 25.4’s.
I’ll get these cleaned and sorted and see what these will do a bit further out.
