So while I’m tinkering with the Impact (almost done I think) I preordered my dreamlite in 22 along with some pellets and a foster adapter for the fill probe. Don’t have the money for a scope yet, but won’t be long. It’ll be at least a week before they are in stock anyway so there’s time. So far I’m happy with my Athlon Argos BTR 6-24x50. Any other suggestions for around that price point? I’d hate to put such a big scope on such a light gun and make it bulky but I’d hate to lose range in my zoom too now that I’m spoiled with the one I have.

Congrats on your new purchase, hopefully it serves you well! But I must ask an honest question, for 3200$ total for 2 air rifles, what exactly are you purposing each for? I am genuinely curious, not trying to insinuate anything.

Once I get the Impact back where I want it, I’ll mostly use it for predator and hog hunting. I’ll use the 22 for plinking n pesting around the homestead. At this rate I think it will pay for itself in pellets and air in a year. I’ve had the impact for a month. I’ve only really shot it a lot maybe 5 days of that time and burned through 8 tins of pellets. That’s about $150 in lead for not really that much trigger time. I could see that it was going to get really expensive to shoot really quickly. Plus pellets have been hard to find. Had one order in for 3 wks now and they still haven’t shown up in stock. I did order some from another vendor to get me by. 30s are $18 for 150. 22s are $18 for 500. I had planned on getting a 22 and a 45 eventually (like a Vulcan 2 in 22 and a Texan ss in 45). But I decided I’d save by getting the 22 now. Eventually I’ll get the Texan (or gauntlet but probably the Texan) for deer hunting. Hope that’s a satisfactory answer.

Discovery VT-3 3-12x44 FFP is a nice scope, super light and short, first focal plane good glass and only $200. Joe Wayne lives em, he suggested it to me.

Because you mentioned not wanting I change your range, it would be hard for me to suggest anything in the price range that is better. That is why I buy Athlons and many other do, hard to beat the quality at the price. A similar option is the Vortex Diamondback Tactical also in 6-24. It is maybe a half inch longer, but maybe 5oz lighter.
