I've wanted a FX Crown since the Mark II's came out. I had a hard time deciding between .22 and .25 caliber. Once I decided on .22 I couldn't find one in the Yellow Jacket laminated stock. I know it isn't everyones favorite, but I like it and that's what I wanted. After months of looking I found a Continuum with Yellow Jacket laminated stock... in .25 caliber. Wow this is a huge step up from my .22 caliber Dreamline. After mounting a scope and sighting in, the first 5 shot group at 20 yards was one hole just slightly bigger than a quarter inch.
The .25 is a mixed blessing. Shooting paper targets I can tell it smacks a lot harder than my .22 Dreamline. The down side is the availability of ammo. I got 2 tins of JSB King Heavy pellets with the gun, but I'm having a hard time finding more ammo. Does anyone have experience with the Crown in .25 caliber with different pellets and slugs? It seems NSA and Varmint Knocker slugs are about the only thing readily available. Thanks.
