New to the Forum

Hello everyone,

Danny here. I am from South Florida and I am looking to get into the air rifle community. I have been trying to educate myself with the different types of guns, terminology, accessories, and pretty much what would be best suited for me.

My plan is to purchase either an RTI Prophet or an FX Impact but I’m still trying to weigh the pros vs cons. Before I make my final decision I would like to get an actual feel for each. If there are any members on here that live between Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach counties that know of any good shops please chime in.

Hope to hear from you all and see you out there soon!!!

Welcome brother. Well you certainly jumped right in to the deep end right off the bat. Those are two rifles I certainly wish I had. Honestly though there are several other top tier guns that would operate just as smoothly. Check in with air arms line like the s510, edgun is also cool, uragan is a good gun but uuuuugggggly! Rawhm1000x is my favorite airgun ever and then of course there is the absolute best airgun ever made the venerable 2250 ratcatcher that you build into your own pcp. Don't laugh you will learn everything you need to know building one and you can have the pride of accomplishment. Goodluck.

Prophet if you can get your hands on one !! Only 8 Orings instead of 40 on the competitor !! Totally the "Spartan" did I say SPARTAN oh Yeah I did Beast of PCB's!!!!!! Keeping it simple and Smooth!!!!!

That’s what I’m leaning more towards. I checked out the Spartan and it does have that simple classic style to it. You really put me on to something there. I may have to pick one up for the collection.

WELCOME! Go hook UP with someone local and shoot both before making a decision.

The RTI is cheaper and if you like tinkering the FX Impact is what seems to be whats tinkered with the most both by choice (or not). Search the forum for info for added piece of mind (or not).

Thanks. I will certainly try to. I believe there’s a group that goes out maybe once a month near me but I haven’t met any of them yet. If they are in the forum hopefully I can find them or they find me.

...I do not have any regrets in regard to buying a single shot Air Force pellet gun...there is not much to go wrong...

...very simple... .!.😃.!.

...it is also very accurate, powerful, sturdy, and relatively light compared to more complex formats...they are also very modular...

...today mine is a .25 cal Escape...

...the aesthetics indeed leave something to be desired but I find it surprisingly shootable for what is IMHO a crude design...

...something I do not mind dragging through the poop...

...the Daystate Firelfy used to break me heart...it's in a better home now...I do regret that...

...this thread is making me want the .22 Prophet... 😬

Greetings Hapo,

When I started my search I was really interested in the TalonP Carbine. It’s still something that I may eventually get down the line. You’re right though, it’s not one of the best looking designs but there is something about it that is still attractive. From what I’ve seen so far, Airforce has been putting out some good products. The function seems to be straight forward and reliable.

I do not know much about the Daystate brand. I’ve seen the name around....but I haven’t really looked at their product line. I will be sure to though.

It sounds like you are considering “pulling the trigger“ and getting a prophet as well. Lol. Please let me know if you do and let me know what kind of upgrades you have planned for it.

One our sponsors here is Palm Beach Airguns. I hear great things about them around here so I would suggest calling them up and going by there. That would be ideal for you. I had vastly different thoughts about what I wanted after getting to go to my first airgun show, because I didn’t have a ship close by. Definitely go by there if you can!!

Go up to the small banner ads at the top of the page here, and you will find their link.

Thank you. I will most certainly look them up and give them a call. I don’t think they are too far from me either. Maybe about a 45min drive if that.

i 2nd palmbeachairguns, Joel is a super nice guy. ups bomb dropped my fx crown driving the barrel to mashing the stop pin, mag wouldnt even slide in. shipped in a hard case. pba took care of the insurance and i had another in a couple of weeks. now i buy from them if they got it.

I will definitely do business with them. I actually spoke with them today. No exact date on when the prophets will be in stock but it’s good to know they are a short drive up the road and I wouldn’t have to worry about it being shipped. It’s good to know that they have excellent customer service seeing how they took care of you.
