I've had powder burners for 20 years and co2 air pistol for 10 years. I've always hunted with center fire and plunked with co2 to keep in practice.

I just recently got a crosman quest 1000x to deal with cottontails and tree squirrels DESTROYING my wifes plants, flowers, and yard decor year round...

while I like the rifle and it is very accurate and powerful for a Springer. 3/8"-1/2" groups at 10yrds, 900fps/17fpe (after figuring out spring rifles lol). I even considered ditching the Springer for a gas ram break barrel but IDK.

I find my self wanting the ease of just trigger pull, compared to break barrel actions. which has led me to the crosman 2240 platform and more desired the diana cp platform. my ideal setup would be a co2 kit or mrodair master blaster kit.

has anyone else had this issue? I'd go pcp via diana bandit, but I dont want to buy a $150 pump or $700 compressor.

I can save you a lot of money and suggest a 177 Nova Freedom which I personally own (but not for sale, ever...) and can reliably hit targets out to 85 yards. Built in pump and it is a PCP rifle. Super easy to pump, no tanks or fill devices necessary and there is one for $300 via Paypal on the Member Classifieds section and I suggest you scoop it up before someone else does because they cost $399. Mine in 177 is a real tack driver and is currently my favorite Go-To gun and shoot it almost daily. Had it been available when I first got into airgunning, I would have saved thousands of dollars by not buying a lot of guns that I did and the fill equipment too. I own a variety of cheap economy guns, mid grade average priced and expensive high end guns and the Nova Freedom no matter being on the cheap is the one I grab when I get the urge to shoot. No recoil relatively quiet with a shrouded barrel and dead nuts accurate in 177 on both selectable low and high power levels. I am not advising on a 22 caliber version at this time until I at least have one to shoot and give an accurate opinion on it.

There would be no point in getting a pump up pistol or rifle from Crosman after getting a Nova Freedom nor any spring gun or gas ram for that matter. What I like the most is the minimum amount of effort needed to pump this gun and gets many dead on accurate shots without needing to pump it up again and best of all it is a PCP. Its competitor is an FX Independence costing $1599.99 or $975.00 used from Precision Airgun Supplies.

Don't consider a gas ram, they are difficult to shoot accurately. Get a good gun to start and be happy!

The farthest I shot a bird to date with my 177 Nova Freedom was at about 115-120 yards on a dead calm day. I think it could possibly do 135 maybe 150 yards IMO but with the 177 has a limiting factor based on weight and lack of wind resistance at distances past that for accuracy.

I have done 80-90 yards pesting several times so far which surprised me providing perfectly still and calm days. Normally shoot between 50-65 yards average on less than perfect days.

Have to agree with scubajeeper on that one and I haven't shot mine in a very long time after getting into PCPs very accurate out to 40 yards maybe even 55 yards if you are good enough shot once you get the hang of the shooting cycle using consistent hold all of the time and not get too complacent when shooting it.

I sure miss the GADOINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.......................

I could be wrong, but nothing comes to mind that fits those parameters. There are break barrel repeaters (they probably suck) as in break the barrel, shoot, break the barrel, shoot, repeat.... There are non break barrel (as in under levers) but don’t know if any that are repeaters. 

So, what you may be looking for is a PCP?

Breakbarrel repeater then you either need to go to Walmart and buy yourself a Gamo Swarm Maxxim which may make many over here point their thumbs down.

Or buy a used Theoben SLR98 for maybe $1200.00 average from England and if you do a search for SLR98 you will find the site I am referring to.

It is an underlever that is well sought after which are no longer made and are deadly accurate shooting guns.

On the other hand you could get an RWS 850 Air Magnum CO2 rifle which is a bolt action 8 shot magazine fed repeater.

I have a pair of 850s in both 177 and 22 caliber and they are kinda on the lowish side of the power band but they do shoot accurately.

There are also cheap Co2 versions of your Diana if you do a search but have never owned one and 

probably never will because I would rather have PCPs or at least my Nova Freedom to pump which is effortless

Yep gotta be a Co2 based on your criteria... they are power limited and temperature dependant just so you know...

In order to get acceptable accuracy when shooting repeating Co2 guns, you need to wait about a minute between shots

and ideally live in a warmer environment if you want the power level up to their specification. If you live in a colder place

then it wouldn't perform as it should so you know...

Doesnt it get really cold in Nebraska? Co2 and cold dont mix well. I would get that HW97 that scubajeeper linked. Awesome gun at awesome price. PCP rifles are great but it does expensive with the needed accessories. But if you do go PCP look at the marauder pistol/carbine. It is very easy to fill with a handpump, very accurate, small and light and it is a repeater. Let us know what you choose.

The Diana Stormrider might well fit your needs. PCP repeater, small, light, accurate, and not too bad to charge with a hand pump. For about $950 you could also get a Weihrauch HW44 PCP pistol that is a repeater as well and should be easy to fill with a hand pump. Accuracy is reported as excellent with that pistol.

I have to agree I want an $899.00 HW44 too but have to be content with a P-Rod for now.

although I was catching dime groups tonight before work with my 1000x which only has a $12 gamo green dot sight on it at 10yrds.

still to be a practical pest/small game gun the break barrel aspect kills the element of surprise or inherent stealth.

which is why a co2 or pcp intereste me, if it was just for target shooting the 1000x is a monster....I'm destroying tripled up 1/4 boards in my trap. actually blew the back of my trap out tonight (3/8 pine) "stacking pellets" shooting from a standing position using cp destroyers.
