NEW to pcp looking for rifle

First decision might be bullpup or long gun. I got a long Avenger 2nd (first was a Prod) and then a bullpup. All subsequent have been bullpups. I have 8 total now. 4 are 22s and 3 of them (all except the Prod) have given me a 200 on the 30 yard challenge. They are accurate guns. Two of these are made by SPA (Snowpeak). My first 200 was with my P35-22 and my latest is with my Stoeger Bullshark in 22 caliber. Both are well within your budget. The Stoeger is easier to get, I think you'd have to go to Krale to get the P35. The Umarex Zellos/SPA M60 and SPA P35X are other SPA made guns well within your budget. My SPA 22s seem to prefer to be at around 32 fpe which is plenty for small game. The P35 killed a small raccoon. And this is the power level I shoot targets with them because it is where they are most accurate. My other 200 is from my Caiman X which is over your budget. It also had issues I fixed but came to me with issues. My 3 P35s have been pretty problem free and the bullshark came to me because of a, in the end, minor issue with the regulator that cost nothing to fix. The regulators typically come at near max achievable power so only hammer spring and a little trigger tuning are required. Nice guns if you like bullpups. Light too. P35 is about 5 lbs and the Bullshark is about 6 (the stock makes the weight difference).

Welcome to AGN This is the best place to be. The rabbit hole is were all your money goes. Here are some places.
Pyramid Air , and Airgun Depot. These places allow returns if you have trouble.
Air guns of Arizona hit menu then select pre owned. Airgun revisions. I would not buy Hatsan until the up their customer service. Some places are less expensive , but if you have trouble you will be directed to the manufacturer. I'll tell you my personal set up as I think it would be good for your needs. I have a .22 cal Zelos which has a 26 " barrel. The mag holds 20. I'm using a 28g slugs reg set a 2.900 , and hammer 5 turns in from flush to back. This gives 46 fpe enough for a Coyote as well. I did buy a round nose 500 cc bottle from Amazon for $40 , and a C88 machining Zelos bottle adapter from eBay. This is giving me 36 shots if you go with a lighter slugs say 25 you should get 40 shots , or 2 mags. Right about $700 for this set up , and money for a scope , and pellets. Happy Shooting. OldVet.

The umarex zelos, air venturi avenge x, and Diana outlaw Gen 2 all look like good options for unbox and play guns if your stuck on new, I think all are regulated, I own none so not first hand but I did get my kid a Diana chaser kit and was very impressed with it for a cheaper co2 gun its very well made and gets almost 30 shots on one 12 gram co2 cartridge and max 600fps so I thought that was impressive and imagine there pcps are just as nice. I do have a Benjamin marauder, well made but unregulated and id recommend at least getting a Hillairgun.com matched parts kit, it made mine so consistent for being unregulated and added some power.

If noise isnt an issue then Snowpeak / Lancer T-Rex carbine on Amazon is $230 shipped. (was 207$ on sale until recently). Regulated, decent tank size (220cc) and at the upper end of speed youd want to use for cheap crosman 22 pellets (~920? fps iirc). About 27 fpe.

Youd have around a foot of drop at 80 yards tho, so it would be sensitive to keeping the scope level unless you went with a heavier pellet and higher powered gun.

To state what I'm thinking would just have management reprimand me once again ... So

BUY quality where Parts and service is supported w/o having to search outside the country !!
Suggest a Long gun IMO, not a pup for your first PCP
A more purpose built ( Non modular in a conventional stock) type design will be a better hard use tool for pesting and knocking around.

People are extremely fussy about their airguns here. Your conditions are a pretty low bar, so there's quite a lot out there that'll do the job you want. The only real constraint you've given the forum is the price constraint. Pesting to 80 yards is a low bar for most guns these days. So you might want to think about other constraints. Do you need to pack your gun, or is it a porch princess, etc? i.e. maybe toss out some preferences that go beyond your hard constraints.

i am new to to pcp world, looking for a rifle for pest control (squirrels and rabbits). .22 caliber , shooting out to about 80 yard , not wanting to do a lot of mods , but a little tinkering would be ok . i have a air source already and scope Athlon Talos , any help or suggestions , budget $1000. Would prefer side cocking lever
Hard to beat a marauder… check out Airgun Revisions

Options are wide & varied in your price range. My suggestion for a 1st pcp would be a low maintenance, low tinkering straight out of the box, smooth, accurate shooter (FX Royale, Taipan Veteran, Daystate Huntsman, Air Arms S510, Brocock, etc.). Having a trouble free, joyous 1st pcp experience can "set the tone" for one's general attitude towards PCPs in the weeks & months to follow. Why not have a POSITIVE learning experience instead of one full of technical glitches & frustration? Don't rush your decision & keep checking classifieds by well respected sellers & forum members.
