New (to me) FX Royale 400 question

I bought a 400 off an individual and it hadn't been shot in a couple years and when the seller was boxing it up he noticed it was empty. I've had more than a few airguns apart but was just wondering, while waiting for it to arrive, what are the likely leak points and do these rifles have any common leaks? From the drawing I looked at there are only a few orings that would cause this. The reg, the fill valve/ bottle adapter and the firing valve.

Yep, that's about it. Mine has never leaked, but I've replaced the reg and had it apart a few times, and I think you will find it easy to service. If there is air in the plenum, just loosen the stock screw attachment housing to drain, which will save a little stress on the bottle adapter O ring. It is one of my favorite rifles (the only FX platform for me).

You acquired a SUPERB & simple pellet shooting platform. I have a .22 Bobcat,.25 Royale 500 & a .30 Boss. Never any leaks with the Royale & Boss. If the prior owner ever had it apart without replacing seals, especially around regulator exterior, THAT could cause leaks. Remove stock from action & spray with some form of leak detector to track it down. FX USA has diagrams under "support" on their website. 20220430_141952.jpg

Thanks for the encouragement guys. One of the things that drew me to the 400 is simplicity. I had been considering the Crown but I'm just not that interested in constantly tweeking. No offense to those who do, but I like to tune a rifle and leave it that way a shoot it. Just two different ways of plying with airguns tweaking and shooting, kinda cool FX has got it all covered.

The only previous FX I've had was a Cyclone, which my neighbor still Has, and it is a tank. He's beat the crap out of it and it never misses a beat. You should have seen his face when he shot it without the silencer and it cracked a fair bit, and he knew of course how quiet it normally is, and I opened up the silencer to show him it was empty! He's not a technology guy and he was amazed!

I had to get into the internals of my Boss a couple months ago. I was surprised how relatively easy it was to work on & get it back to top form. Same as yours, just larger caliber.
BTW, I dressed up all 3 of mine with custom made aluminum knurled cocking lever handles made by Chan (cfs916). They feel GREAT & so was his price! Same as Crown or Impact handles if you contact him.

I have rebuilt several FX, its all was different sometime it the bottle valve, the regulator in the front, there is an o ring and 2 on top of it,the one on the inside you need to be very careful when taking the regulator apart, there are a lots of video out there on how to do them, I have seen some 22 not regulated

Chan has since ramped up his game with these cocking handles. Beautiful work
