New to me 22 caliber Field Pro update.

After having the gun apart seven times to tune it, I finally got it working well. I had some familiar problems with the Vortek PG4 kit. I finally gave up and worked out a viable solution and had Tom (at Vortek) make it right.

Right now it has one of the nicest shot cycles of any gun I've shot. The last ten shots over the chronograph went Avg 703 ES 3! and SD 0. That's an even 16 fpe. Good enough in my book for this platform.

The Weihrauch scope is complete garbage. I'll use it as a wheel chock. I put on my test mule Hawke 3-9x40 Vantage AO for testing. I shot this three shot group test target at ten yards. Not bad for a gun that's guts aren't an hour old.

I like the gun, especially the stock ergonomics. It's a keeper. Eventually it'll wear an Airmax. I just realized I never cleaned and polished the barrel as I normally do. I guess I got distracted with all the other BS.

Next time I go back to a Maccari kit and a Vortek seal. Fool me once....

good information. I was about to pull the trigger on a Vortek pg4 for my problem child. Is this something that Tom is addressing so others won’t have the same headache as you

Not really. I've had these headaches with the steel PG3 and PG4 kits all along. He's hanging on to these steel outer guides no matter how much negative feedback I give him.
