New to Airgunning

I'm new to the airgun world. I've been a long distance shooter most of my adult life but got out of it after moving and not having adequate places to shoot. I've been intrigued about the PCP's for about 3-years and finally jumped off into deep water with the FX Crown in .25. Bought a SCBA tank, scope and rings. An air compressor with air dryers and moisture removers. I have been really impressed with the accuracy of my Crown especially after harmonic tuning. I would've never believed it was possible to shoot such tight groups with a pellet rifle. One of my favorite past times as a kid was shooting the walnuts off our trees with a 22. Well, I started off with the walnuts with the Crown and after about a 1000 at various ranges, it got kinda boring. So now I'm on to busting the pears off my Bradford Pear trees. You just gotta love it when the walnuts and the pears explode. I guess my next step is red oak acorns.... Thanks to all that submit their threads for all of us to enjoy. I've learned a ton in just a short time.

Airguns are just so much fun, simply apply directly to target. Thought about an oversized elevation knob yet? One fast adjustment from tall weeds at 15yards to walnuts at 80, fun fun.

It's kinda hard to post trophy pics unless you're ok with lots of tiny pieces. Although, the green walnuts sure do smell good when you vaporize them.

I like to sit in the woods and listen to the locus sing and try and spot one and shoot. I also will put some honey for jelly on a paper plate and shot at fly's and bees. more fun than shooting paper.

I did something similar. I smeared cow manure on the end of a metal 55-gallon drum to draw in the flies. It wasn't very challenging because whether you make a direct hit or just off a little, the shrapnel made for 100% kill ratio.

slam, I too am a PB ex-pat. I much prefer AGs now. The stealth allows me to take much more small game than I ever did with my .22lrs or shotguns. (Hunting small game with AGs is legal in California, where I live.) Welcome. The Crown is quite the gun. I have a Daystate Pulsar HP .25. This is the best AG forum, IMO.

Dont shoot those walnuts and acorns. Where thers nuts there are bound to be squirrels and chipmunks. I also blast the black walnuts that fall early. Yea they do smell good. I also have butternuts. About half the width of a walnut. No smell but a better challange.

I've got a bumper crop of Walnuts, acorns, pecans and Bradford Pears this year. There's not enough critters in the entire state to come eat all of what I got!!!
