New to Air Rifles - Zero distance

I learned to shoot during Boot Camp for the Marine Corps back in the '80's. For those that don't know we qualified with an M-16A1 Open Sights at 200, 300 and 500 yards. So we zero'ed the sights at 200 yards.

My Firearms, I have zero'ed at 100 yards and click around for elevation and holdover for wind.

Now to the rifles I just purchased.

Brocock Bantam in .25 cal. What distance should this be zero'd at? 25, 50, 75 or 100 yards? I plan on doing some pest control and targets. Looking for longest area under the curve (+/- 0.50" along sight line).

Daystate Red Wolf HP in .22 cal., this will mostly be used for target shooting off a bench.

Any advice is welcomed.

Depends a lot on what distance you are most likely to be shooting at.

.22 caliber pellets don’t have an especially long range capability. For myself and my application, I would sight in at about 35 yards, as my typical range would vary from about 25 yards to about 50 yards.

Much depends on your intended use, expected pellet weight, and the distance that you plan to be shooting at the most.
