New to air guns TX200

I had both for years until I sold them both last year to get into PCP's they are the two best true spring guns you can buy. I always tuned my spring guns with vortek kits to get rid of the twang which always annoyed me. I also always got rowan engineering parts for each the target trigger for the TX is awesome the new set back blades for the 97 are great also think a cocking handle is must. I like the look of the TX stock better but I liked the feel of the thumbhole 97 better. I had a custom stock on my TX which was awesome. A great step up from where you are and really the last step in springers before you would make the jump to PCP's if you ever decided to do that.

I push the bear trap with middle, reach from underneath. Sometimes times (my mistake) when I’m pushing the cocking arm back, I release the bear trap too early and catch last safety. This is where I get slippage.

I have a LGU Varmint which is almost identical, never an issue, wish they would bring back the LGU. Crow

That trap is a pain no matter how you do it. My hands are to small to wrap around the stock, that is why I reach over the top. Have always held the cocking lever so the trap isnt needed for me, but the lawyers say it is needed. Have thought about removing it many times, but not comfortable if someone else shoots my gun.

Definitely get a springer, either TX or HW are amazing guns. But suggest you keep an open mind for a nice PCP. If you like the Sheridan you will love a PCP with a good trigger. Many to choose from at various price points, check these pages for recommendations.
I was in this same position owning my Sherdan since I was a kid. I had replaced it with a .20 cal R1, back in the late eighties, but lost that gun in house burglary, so back to what I knew.

Recently I decided to go PCP. I started with a Beeman Chief2, and a hand pump. That was a NO! The hand pumping wasn't going to work, and I was not happy with the lack of accuracy and elevation inconsistancy as the pressure dropped.

So I bought a Gauntlet 2 and a compressor.
Let me tell you, my Sheridan will out shoot either of those Chinese hunks of junk.

So. Now I'm done playing, and in the market for a Crown M2.
