New to Air Gun Sports

Hi Folks. Wondering if you could give me some advice.... I just purchased a Diana 48 and need to scope this unit. My question... Do I need to buy an actual air gun scope for this rifle since it is side cock not barrel and what would be a quality hunting scope for around 200.00 max.. Thank you.....Jim

Its a piston powered gun so you definitely need something springer rated. Its also a pretty heavy slapper so you'll want a good mount go with it. I've got a couple UTG 4-16x scopes that have handled heavier recoiling guns very well over the years. I would use a UTG DNT06 adapter and either a low or medium set of picatinny rings for that gun.

Jim, I only shoot pcp's now so I'm not a reliable resource for springer scopes. I'm sure others with knowledge will chime in.

I have used Clearidge scopes on spring guns and have never had a problem They have great glass too, made in Japan too.

I have had decent luck with CenterPoint on my TX200.

48 is pretty hard on scopes. Try to get a brand with a repair process. Good shooting.

I put a UTG Bug Buster on my Remington Nitro, which is BRUTAL...https://leapers.com/index.php?act=listproduct&midx=2446&allids=2424_2446. Before that the scopes I used died almost instantly.
