New tank leaking

Hello everyone,

I am new to this sport and I have been looking at a lot of guns and accessories and trying to find the right setup. I figured having a large tank was a must so I pulled the trigger three weeks ago on a 74 cf air Venturi 4500 psi tank from AGD because they just got them in stock. I took it to my local subs shop and they said it’s leaking pretty bad at the neck. They said they didn’t want to work on it because it’s a brand new tank. They told me that I need to contact where I purchased it from. Well I have sent multiple emails, made a lot of calls and sat on hold for 20 minutes each time before their phone system disconnects you. I even reached out to Air Venturi and have not had a return call from them either. Not sure what to do. Is there a O ring at the neck that could be leaking? Is this an easy fix or? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Check with soapy water around the neck. Lots of times it's just that the valve wasn't on tight enough. Unfortunately, if you do find it leaking at the neck of the tank you will have to completely drain the tank of air before you can tighten the valve. It really doesn't need to be wrench tight, just hand tight if it has a good o-ring to seal it.

Yes, there is an o-ring at the neck between the tank and the valve. They are so easy to replace I would think that the shop that was filling your tank would have done it for you. Unless of course someone used locktight on it which is not needed as the pressure in the tank will hold things plenty tight. As stated above hand tight is all that is needed when putting it together.
