New taipan in need of some accessory help

So I just recieved a “new to me” veteran standard from a fantastic member here. I’m in need of a case for it (thinking soft case), and a piece of pic rail to mount to the stock for bipod duties. Can some senior members of the taipan family chime in on what has worked for them?

I know there’s a recent post about a soft case, but it looked a little TOO snug for my liking.

I used a small pic rail and installed with T nuts.

Utah Airguns sells Flambeau cases at a good price, they fit the Taipan with scope and noderator.

I used tee nuts on my taipan also but I did not recess I just used longer screws. There is plenty of room in the fore stock to do it either way. If you use longer screws it's less work and less modifications to your nice laminate stock

Yes, there is plenty of room to use them without drilling the recess. I just wanted it neat. A forster drill bit makes a smooth, flat bottom hole. And you don't need the long prongs on the nut in this application, I broke them off.
