New Scott 60 minute 5500 psi SCBA tanks

If anyone is interested in a new, old stock 2015 dated Scott 5500 psi SCBA tank, this person in San Jose CA has several available for $550. They are $2600 new. Would be great for someone who lives near a fire station that will fill to 5500 PSI for free, but would still work great for 300 BAR fills. I don't think you can find a better built tank for the price. The Scott valves are very smooth and over built for PCP use with a gauge that reads from either side.

You list is as a 60min tank at 5500psi fill.
If i tried to calculate the actual tank size for us non Imperial folks, would i include or subtract the whistle blow pressure?

5500psi = 345bar
5500psi using 40liters/min x 60min = 6.95liters~14.68pint including whistle pressure.
50 bar whistle = 725psi
5500-725=4475psi using 40liters/min x 60min = 7.77liters~16.42pints without whistle pressure.

Might be second nature for you US guys but, see how this is confusing for the rest of the world?

If you would simply state the actual volume of the bottle, then we'd all be on the same page ;-)

Yes these are awesome👍. I have a 5500 psi Scott tank. This is the way of future for big bore airgun s. Simple fill to 5500 psi and regulate to 4500 psi. 😀.

I would be tempted to buy one, but then I would need a new compressor as mine pretty much tops out at 300 BAR / 4350 PSI though the manual does say it can reach 4500psi, which is still 1000 PSI short!

With the new GX CS4 compressor that will do 5800 psi max for $699, these $550 new, old stock Scott 5500 psi 60 minute SCBA tanks look like a more viable option for someone who wants a smaller tank without giving up any compressed air capacity. The Scott 5.5 60 minute 5500 psi tank is smaller and lighter than their older model 60 minute 4500 psi version but delivers the same amount of compressed air.

I would be more interested in one if it was the same dimensions as my 4500 psi 60 minute Scott as the compressed air capacity would be significantly more than this smaller tank, but it is still a great price on a superb tank. They are over $3000 if purchased from an SCBA shop.

Pretty nice find on eBay for that price. I am guessing it would take most of the day to fill one of these 5500 psi tanks with that new GX-CS4 from empty, even with the higher flow over the older GX models. It took me over 2 hours to fill my Scott 60 minute 4500 psi tank from 0 to 4400psi using my Yong Heng. I didn't even want to try to fill it with my GX CS3.

☝️👆☝️👆 Hey Reed, you need someone to talk to this morning or are you just having a conversation with yourself??? 🤣
Sorry just trying to put information out to help anyone with a ear to hear. Instead of wasting money going down rabbit holes. This is important information to future of big bore airgun s.
